The AERO Adaptive Structures & Material Systems Committee (ASMS) is concerned principally with "adaptive" structures consisting of "smart" materials having geometry or characteristics that can be remotely or automatically changed to respond to internal and external stimulation. The Committee participates or co-sponsors four conferences and three awards per year.
