Fluid Mechanics

The Fluid Mechanics Technical Committee (FMTC) serves as the focal point within ASME for technical activities in the area of fundamental fluid mechanics. FMTC members organize, promote, and present symposia, forums, and panel discussions on topics of importance to the fluid mechanics technical community. The business meetings of FMTC are held twice a year, at the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) and the Fluids Engineering Division (FED) Summer Meeting.

FMTC Sub-Committees
Our goal is to provide timely, important, and well-coordinated technical sessions to the ASME membership. In attaining this goal we are placing major emphasis on the development of rolling three-year plans for our session offerings. In general, we expect session planning to be done in conjunction with one of the four subcommittees, and that Call for Papers be developed and distributed to the FMTC Chair, Vice-Chair, and Subcommittee Chairs well in advance of the meeting at which they will be discussed.
