Mission Statement The mission of the Radwaste Systems Committee is to promote enhancements and improvements in low level radioactive waste (LLRW) processing systems designs and the continuity of LLRW-related programs to support cost-effective operation of nuclear power plants, effective waste management at DOE Sites, commercial facilities, and promote safe and cost effective packaging, transportation, and disposal of LLRW.
Objectives of the Committee The objectives of the Radwaste Systems Committee are to:
- Provide for the collection and exchange of technical and programmatic information relating to the management, transportation and disposal of LLRW.
- Identify and support improvements in LLRW processing systems designs.
- Identify and support programmatic enhancements for LLRW management.
- Identify and honor an individual or organization for distinguished service and eminent achievement in the commercialization of nuclear power/energy, particularly in the field of LLRW management.
