The Pressure Vessels and Piping Division of the ASME was organized as an ASME technical division in 1966 in response to the interest of members to the rapidly changing and expanding technology of pressure boundary containment.

PVPD Mission Statement
Provide a forum to the engineering and scientific communities to promote, share and disseminate state-of-the-art pressure technologies, relating to the power, petrochemical and process industries, and sustainable and alternative energies.
