Plant Operations & Maintenance

Plant Operations & Maintenance functions as a Technical Committee of the Power Division to advance the art and sciences related to the operation of energy conversion, industrial, and institutional facilities. To fulfill this purpose, the Committee will:

  • Include members with interest and who are actively involved with concepts, engineering design, installation or operation of equipment, systems or facilities utilized in Plant Operations.
  • Provide a forum that will benefit all professions having a bound interest in improving the safety, availability, capacity, efficiency, maintenance, operations, and environmental impact of their plants.
  • Provide for technology transfer through the dissemination of information via publication, technical seminars, presentations, and an open exchange of information between members.
  • Identify "operating best practices" for all types of energy conversion facilities, including industrial, institutional central utility and commercial power plants.
  • Encourage, promote, and coordinate the sharing of operations-related information that will improve the effectiveness of the workforce, equipment, and plant systems.
