The Education and Public Affairs Committee shall be responsible for informing Division membership and the public of Division activities. In addition to publicity, the Committee will accomplish the objectives of liaison and communications with other ASME Divisions and Sections, other societies, the public and government. The Committee shall also be responsible for developing and retention of membership in the Society and in the Division.
The committee shall also be available to encourage and promote responses to technical issues involving Government actions and Power Division activities and shall represent the Power Division in developing information for the ASME Washington, D.C. office for use with Federal Government agencies, legislative staff personnel, and Congressmen. This committee will provide a factual engineering information source to aid Federal legislative and administrative agencies and committees in formulating sound laws and regulations. The committee’s activities shall be in accord with the latest revision of ASME Policy P-15.1.
