If you are experiencing difficulty downloading files from the SBC2008 website:

You can add http://www.asme.org a 'Trusted Site' to overcome download problems without having to reduce the internet security level of your browser.  For instructions on adding ASME as trusted website for various computer/browser combinations, as well as instructions regarding the use of the interactive abstract template, click here

2. COPYRIGHT TRANSFER FORM (1903), INSTRUCTIONS AND SAMPLES

  • Submitted abstracts must be accompanied by an ASME Copyright Transfer (1903) Form signed by all authors.

  • The corresponding author will be responsible for collecting all signatures from co-authors and fax all the signed forms in one single fax or e-mail. One or more forms may be submitted with multiple signatures, so long as all author signatures are on record for each abstract.

  • The 1903 Copyright Transfer Form has detailed instructions to guide you during the process of entering your information. For your convenience, the fields which need your attention are highlighted in color (requires turning on the 'Highlight Fields' option of your Acrobat reader).  You can further peruse the two sample forms which are filled for submissions originating from governmental and non-governmental sources.

  • Signed forms should be submitted by fax to 1-866-349-3285 (toll-free number for USA/Canada) or 1-212-659-0287 (international toll call), or scanned and emailed to SBC2008-copyright-form@cut.ac.cy. Please be sure to include Tracking Id, assigned by abstract submission website, on each form and also on the subject line if emailed. If you have questions regarding the terms of the copyright transfer,  or about how to fill the forms, please email SBC2008-copyright-form@cut.ac.cy before submitting the form.

  • ALL FORMS MUST BE CORRECTLY FILLED, SIGNED AND RECEIVED NO LATER THAN MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2008, OTHERWISE THE ABSTRACT WILL NOT BE SENT OUT FOR REVIEW AND IT MAY BE REJECTED ACCORDINGLY.

  • PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE TITLE OF THE PAPER AND THE NAMES OF THE AUTHORS ON THE COPYRIGHT FORM MATCH THE TITLE AND THE NAMES OF THE AUTHORS ON THE ABSTRACT, OTHERWISE THE ABSTRACT MAY BE REJECTED.

Copyright Transfer Form (1903)

February 5, 2008

Please verify the following points in your submission:

1) FILE: The abstract should be uploaded in PDF FORMAT. Please do not upload Word or any other file types.

2) TRACKING ID: The six digit tracking ID that you will get from the abstract submission site is a special identifier number unique to your abstract. This tracking ID number must be entered in the field on the top right portion of the first page of your PDF file to replace XXXXXX. For example if your Tracking ID is ‘123456’ then the field in PDF which is originally ‘SBC2008-XXXXXX’ should be changed to read as ‘SBC2008-123456’. You have two options for updating this field: A) If you have a PDF editor then you can update this field on the PDF file directly. B) Enter the field in the DOC template file and then convert to PDF.

3) FILE SIZE: Size of the attached file should be less than 1 Mb.

Submission of an abstract implies a commitment by at least one of the authors to attend the conference and present the work. Authors whose abstracts are accepted, but who fail to present their papers, will all be blacklisted from the next Summer Bioengineering Conference (SBC2009).
