Background Information

The Summer Bioengineering Conference is sponsored by the Bioengineering Division (BED) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). ASME is one of the largest professional engineering societies in the U.S., with a membership exceeding 125,000. The Summer Bioengineering Conference is also co-sponsored by several other professional societies, including the Biomedical Engineering Society, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, and the U.S. National Committee on Biomechanics.

Since 1993, the Summer Bioengineering Conference has been held biannually in resort areas, providing a wonderful environment for conference attendees and their families.
