Arrive Early. Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the session, and introduce yourself to the session chairs. Audiovisual Equipment.
Computer switch boxes and multi-plug power outlets will be available in
each room. No
other modes of presentation will be available (e.g. no overhead projector,
no slide projector, no VCR, etc.). Speakers should connect their laptops
to the switch box and test the audiovisual setup before the session
starts. Anyone that connects a laptop and tests the audiovisual setup
at the start of their talk will have this time taken away from their
presentation time. Speaker Time Limits. You have 15 minutes for your talk, including questions. We recommend that you plan for an 11-12 minute long talk, thereby leaving adequate time for questions and discussion. This 15-minute limit will be strictly enforced so that audience members can move between sessions running in parallel. More specifically, session chairs will cut off talks at the 15 minute time limit and move on to the next speaker, with no exceptions. |
Posters at SBC2007 will be high profile, with significant space between posters to minimize crowding, grouping of posters by theme, and food service during poster sessions. Posters should be no more than 45 inches x 45 inches, and cannot extend beyond these boundaries. Please print your poster ID number in the top left hand corner of your poster to aid in the location of posters. Authors should plan to bring their own mounting materials (thumb tacks) for attaching their poster to the display panel. Do not use adhesives (glue, tape, spray adhesives, Velcro, etc.) directly on the poster boards.

CHANGES in the presentation type, time, and location CANNOT be made.
BLACKLISTING POLICY: Submission of your abstract implies a commitment to present at the conference. In the absence of compelling personal reasons, the Conference Organizing Committee and the Bioengineering Division have taken the position that failure to prepare and present an accepted talk is unacceptable. Therefore, all authors of any talk that is not presented at SBC2007 will be blacklisted for the 2008 Summer Bioengineering Meeting and cannot submit to that meeting.
