The Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound (TCVS)
The purpose of the Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound (TCVS) is to foster activities pertaining to vibration, sound, and related technical areas. This committee has been an active part of the Design Engineering Division for many years, with our efforts focused on several main activities:

★ to organize the biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise at the ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences and provide overall IDETC leadership (and often the general conference chair)

★ to promote symposia and sessions at other ASME and partner organization events (for example, at the annual ASME IMECHE)

★ to manage the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics

★ to identify, screen, and select recipients of the Den Hartog and Myklestad awards
