EPPD NATIONAL AWARD
To all EPPD Members :
The EPPD
is planning to raise funds to establish an endowed (ASME
Foundation) award account for the purposes of making one
or more national awards each year for those mechanical engineers
who have made significant contributions to the electronics
and photonics industries. Our Phase I plans call for me
to send a letter to many of the electronic engineering and
manufacturing companies, in the ASME database, to request
contributions to this foundation. We need to raise well
over $20K in order to establish the endowed (ASME Foundation)
award account. Subsequently, I cordially request that each
of you query your respective companies or organizations
and determine who the proper point of contact (POC) would
be to receive my letter. I would appreciate your reply by
September 30th so that we can send letters out well before
the winter meeting. If necessary, I can make available,
to you, a draft of the letter that I would send to the appropriate
POC in your company. Please consider helping us out so we
can get a good head start in establishing this worthwhile
and overdue award. Thanks so much for your help.
