Conference
Approval-1 (CA-1)
ASME Sponsorship and Co-Sponsorship:
ASME sponsorship implies ASME has total financial
responsibility. Funds required for the conference may be made
available from the general fund or a custodial or institute
account. ASME sponsored events include:
a. General society meetings such as the International Mechanical
Engineering Congress and Exposition, the Winter Annual Meeting
(referred to as "the Congress"), and the Summer Annual Meeting.
b. Unit conferences such as the Technical Division Conferences;
Joint Conferences; and Regional or Sectional Conferences.
ASME co-sponsorship implies a joint financial responsibility
with another organization. In this case, there shall be a
clear written agreement of the duties and responsibilities
of each society or responsible party involved.
Conference
Approval -2 (CA-2)
ASME Participation:
ASME participation requires the active involvement
of ASME to the extent of organizing sessions or presentation
of papers. This shall not include financial responsibility.
If financial responsibility is required, the conference shall
be classified a co-sponsorship conference.
