The Materials Handling Engineering Division (MHED) concentrates on systems engineering methods that integrate control technology, information technology, and material transport equipment to provide efficient, safe and economical material handling.

The mission and primary interest of the Materials Handling Engineering Division is to identify and communicate information about the latest developments in material handling equipment and practices in all areas of interest to MHED members.

Over the last decade material handling has undergone tremendous changes. To reflect these changes MHED is in the process of a yearlong revitalization effort.
