The Pressure
Vessels and Piping Division of the American
Society of Mechanical Engineers was organized as an ASME technical
division in 1966 in response to the interest of members to
the rapidly changing and expanding technology of pressure
boundary containment.
The
Pressure Vessels and Piping Division provides an organizational
forum for practicing engineers interested in promoting the
state-of-the-art of pressure containment technology. Through
annual conferences, subjects are presented on design and
analysis, materials, application and operation of pressure
containment structures and systems.
Division
Goals
- Organize
conferences to foster the development and exchange of
pressure vessel and piping technology.
- Promote
high quality technical publications and related technical
issues.
- Provide
the base technology that supports ASME Codes and Standards.
- Increase
involvement in societal aspects of technical issues, and
provide vessel and piping technology to the international
community
- Promote
the participation of engineering students in PVP conferences
through student paper competitions.
