This
Conference is Organized Jointly by the ASME International
Solar Energy Division (SED) and Advanced Energy Systems
Division (AESD). This year it will be co-located
with Heat Transfer, Fluids Engineering, and the Nano
Institute.

ASME's Solar Energy
Division was formed in 1966 from a group
of ASME members interested in the application of solar energy
to mechanical engineering systems. The Division's mission
is to:
- Promote the art, science, and practice of the mechanical
engineering aspects of solar energy
- Promote research to expand the solar energy knowledge
base
- Organize meetings and conferences that promote the
dissemination of information between national and international
experts in the solar energy industry, and
- Assist in the education and training of new mechanical
engineers in solar related technologies.
Solar related energy technologies broadly include wind energy,
conservation, ocean thermal energy conversion and bioconversion
as well as other solar technologies.
The Solar Energy Division also provides technical publications
to its members, such as division
newsletters and technical journals. The Journal
of Solar Energy Engineering publishes technical
papers and technical brief notes on all aspects of solar energy
and renewable technologies.
