T&S Leader Gets Leadership Award
The Engineering and Technology Management (E&TM) Group of ASME has awarded Mr. Robert G. Kennedy III, PE, Advisor and former Chair of the Technology & Society (T&S) Division Executive Committee, the 2007 Robert T. Simmons Leadership Award.
Mr. Kennedy was recognized by the award committee for long-standing service to ASME at the Group and Division level, as well as for contributions to the Oak Ridge Tennessee Section and his year as a Congressional Fellow.
Mr. Kennedy's leadership in fostering the increasing involvement of the T&S Division in Group and Society activities were particularly recognized, together with his efforts in representing the T&S Division and the E&TM Group, which helped place both in greater standing within the Society.
Award criteria includes demonstrated "1) evidence of extraordinary leadership through motivating and inspiring others for the common good of the Group, Council of Engineering (now the Technical Communities of the Knowledge & Community Sector), and the Society; 2) evidence of the esteem in which her/his peers in the community hold the nominee, and 3) evidence of special contributions to the E&TM Group through group and individual projects and initiatives."
